Design and construction by Juan Carlos Valdés Adalid

Inside the hotel there are two historic areas protected by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History). In the photo we see a tunnel that not only preserves its architectural beauty, but also contains historical legends of the sixteenth century.

The hotel called Casa Hoyos

Built by by Juan Carlos Valdés Adalid, occupies a former Spanish colonial manor in the city, which is home to many colourful
baroque-style buildings from the mid-1700s.

logotipo Juan Carlos Valdés Adalid

Among the architects that have maintained the line of Traditionalism, Juan Carlos Valdés Adalid stands out fundamentally for what I would define as "preserving the flavor of our past".

The style as such possesses a marked penumbra, dispelled by the open spaces in very thick walls.Despite this, the architect makes use of penetrations for daylight in strategic focal points to keep his areas properly illuminated, without loosing the mysterious effects of the shadows.

The total form is dominated by the solid. The windows are penetrations breaking the vertical walls which produce a dramatic and intimate effect as they let the light through. Then these inner spaces open up towards very large porticos that allow for the placement of comfortable living spaces outside. These porticos are supported by columns, whose rhythm and repetition emulate those of the ancient haciendas. Add to this the proper use of stone, rock, iron and tiles.

Finally, I must say that in some cases, the program serving the contemporary life and often the lifestyles of immigrant cultures he is forced to define the sequence and interconnection of spaces in a manner different from the traditional, the result of which recreates an original style and gives the house a refreshing contemporary touch.
